Wingate tells her story through the eyes of 12-year-old Rill who lived on a Mississippi riverboat with her 4 siblings.This book remained on the New York Times bestseller list for over a year, was featured at the 2018 National Book Festival, and won a Goodreads Choice award for historical fiction.
