On Saturday, July 16, the Riverton Area Book Club will meet to discuss the novel Daisy Jones & The Six, by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The discussion takes place in the community room of the Riverton Municipal Building from 10-11 am.

Reid's book chronicles the life of Daisy Jones, a young girl with an unconventional upbringing: she is growing up around the rock bands of the 1960s in Los Angeles, home of Sunset Strip and Whisky a GoGo. She becomes a singer and connects with a legendary band called The Six but then it all collapses. Are we thinking Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks?  What makes this book unusual is that it is written as an oral history with many characters reminiscing about the 70s rock scene. This novel is bound to lead to a spirited discussion. Watch for the television miniseries set to be shown on Amazon Prime.The Riverton Area Book Club attempts to cover a variety of genres and topics. It meets the third Saturday of every month (excluding December) from 10-11am at the Riverton Municipal Building, located at 1200 Riverton Road.The librarians assist in providing books/audio for discussions which are open to the public.
