Just a quick note that this Saturday, Oct. 15, is the third Saturday of the month and it is book club time!  As usual we will meet from 10-11 am at the Riverton Village Library to comment on the selected reading: The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson.  Does everyone find it suspenseful? Exciting? Timely and relevant?  Believable?  Do we like President Jon Duncan?Let's get together and answer these questions on Saturday. We also will need to pick a book for the November meeting. Maybe with a Christmas theme? If you have any suggestions or comments please do not hesitate to let me know.Perfect for thrills in the month of October, the Riverton Area Book Club will meet Saturday, October 15, from 10-11 at the Riverton Village Library to discuss The President is Missing.  This novel, published in 2018, is authored by a matchup of Bill Clinton, past U.S. president, and James Patterson, who holds the Guinness World Record for the most #1 New York Times bestsellers. Books and audio have been ordered for readers. For further information please contact the Library staff at 217-629-6353.This mystery thriller takes place in modern time and focuses on fictional U.S. president Jonathon Duncan, who faces impeachment for persistently escaping from the eyes of the Secret Service. In dealing with a terrorist threat, Duncan tries to rise above politics to save his country.  Critics are divided in their praise of this story which in many ways has parallels to Clinton's real life.The November meeting will be the last one until the group resumes in January 2023. Everyone is invited to attend discussions and suggest books in which they are interested.
