Book Club - March 17, 2018

Hi, Readers,

This is a reminder that on Saturday we will be celebrating the French instead of the Irish. The Riverton Area Book Club meets this Saturday at 10 am at the Riverton Library to discuss Almost French, by Sarah Turnbull.

This is a first-person account of the adventures of Sarah, a writer from Australia, as she begins a relationship with Frederic, a Parisian. Her memoir records the stories of patience, tolerance, forgiveness, and humor needed to to navigate French customs and idiosyncrasies.

Some of the questions we may ask of the book are:

Riverton Quarter Auction

The Riverton Quarter Auction has selected the Riverton Village Library to be the charity for February.  Their generous support helps us provide

services and programs for our community. The Riverton Quarter Auction will be held on February 26th at St. James Catholic Church.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Auction starts at 7:00 p.m.

There will be snacks, soda, and water available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your own food as well!

We will have a 50/50 drawing and lots of door prizes!

Book Club - March 17

On March 17 the Riverton Area Book Club takes on a travel memoir with Almost French: Love and a New Life in Paris, by Sarah Turnbull. Published in 2004, this is a true story of an Australian young woman who visits Bucharest and ends up making a side trip to Paris where new adventures--and romance!--unfold.
Join the group for discussion at 10 am at the Riverton Village Library. Books and audio are available through interlibrary loan.  Please call your local library if you need copies!
