Closed to Public Through March 30

Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, the Riverton Village Library has decided that it would be in the best interest of the community to implement the same closure policy Governor J.B. Pritzker has mandated for public schools in Illinois.  At this time, the Riverton Village Library will be closed through March 30, 2020.  Items can still be returned in the library book drop and fines will be waived for late items.  Any patron who is waiting on requested material will be contacted on how to collect those items.

Trivia Night to be Rescheduled

With heartfelt apologies, the Riverton Village Library trustees felt the need to postpone the 2020 Trivia Night fundraiser until further notice.  Due to the Coronavirus  concerns , they decided that postponing at this time was a good decision to protect the community.  As soon as a new date is scheduled, an ad will be run in the Riverton Register, posted on social media and on our web site.  Please know that I f you have already purchased raffle basket tickets or 50/50 tickets those will be drawn the night we reschedule.  Contact the library at rvl1@cassc

Book Club - March 21

In March of 2007 the Riverton Area Book Club met for the first time to discuss Illinois Senator Barack Obama’s book, Dreams from My Father.  This March, 13 years later, the group takes a look at another Obama book: Becoming, by Michelle Obama.  During the intervening years the book club has chosen books of all genres: history, fiction, nonfiction, mysteries, ranging from comfortable classics and  summer romances to psychological thrillers and science fiction. Often books that are difficult or unlikable result in the most lively conversations.

Book Club Feb. 15th

Hi, Everyone,

The Riverton Area Book Club is meeting this Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10am to discuss Slightly South of Simple. The discussion will be held at the Riverton Library.

If you have suggestions for next month please bring them along!  March is our anniversary month so we may discuss whether we should make the meeting more festive.
